Romance Author
She/Her
Let's start out easy. Where are you from?
Originally or presently? Originally from Green Bay, WI but presently living in Maryland, just outside of Washington, D.C.
Do you have kids?
I have a son (22) and a daughter (15). These two are the lights of my life and my greatest accomplishment! They're wildly different personalities, my son being far more serious and analytical, whereas my daughter is very artsy and a compassionate soul.
Dogs or Cats?
Cats
Do you have any pets?
My babies! I have two tabbies and one Bengal kitty, who is incredibly opinionated and talkative. We also have two doggies, a female Fila Brasiliero and a male Boerboel and he is *my boy.*
Coffee or Tea or something else?
Alllll the coffee! Just coffee with a few drops of Stevia sweetener and I'm good to go. I just want like six cups of it.
If you could only have one meal every day for the rest of your life what would you choose?
Gosh, that's difficult. I might be so boring as to say really good pizza, provided I can eat it in all the iterations!
You've probably answered this a million times but share with us... what is your overall favorite book?
That's really hard, but if I was stranded on a desert island with just one book to read for the rest of my life, it would be the unabridged The Count of Monte Cristo, by Alexandre Dumas.
What book introduced you to the world of smut?
If it was 50 shades - tell us the second book that introduced you to smut lol
I'm sure this wasn't it, but the memorable one was Sylvia Day's Crossfire series.
If you could land in a fictional world, which would it be and why would you choose it?
I would probably step into my own fictional world of Colson Creek, Minnesota, because this series has been a return to my roots. It's comfortable there, living the farm life I grew up in.
Let's get a little deeper - what is the romance book that you found yourself in?
Whether it was a 😏 moment - or something a little more emotionally stimulating share a bit about the scene
I don't know that I can pinpoint the precise book, but during lockdowns I started reading voraciously, having decided I was going to "do this writing thing." I'd been away from it for years and missed it terribly, and it was reading Karla Sorensen and Corinne Michaels that made me think "I can tell stories like this. What am I waiting for?" I connected with their characters and realized that emotional investment was something powerful.
Who is the ultimate book boyfriend?
That one fictional character that lives rent free in your head. Who is it? What book are they from?
Any of Karla Sorensen's MMCs from her Wilder Family series!
Let's get wild - pick three characters and choose - Fuck Marry - Kill..
Melanie Harlow's Henry DeSantis - fuck | Sylvia Day's Gideon - marry | J.T. Geissinger's Dante - kill
Which FMC have you related most to?
Is it cheating to use one of my own? Probably Charlie, from The Greatest of These. She was raised doing "boy things" and people give her crap in a male-dominated industry. This was my experience growing up. I could talk cars and operate heavy machinery, and it broke brains.
Which indie author who isn't well known deserves more hype?
Which book should we start with?
K. Forest's Ferrari series!
Who is your author crush?
Melanie Harlow. I'd love to be her when I "grow up."
What is your favorite book you've written?
Goodness, that might be like asking me to pick a favorite kid. Obviously I love all of them for different reasons, but it might be Something Saved, book five of the Wolf Mountain Ranchers.
What book of yours do you wish more people would read?
Something Sacrificed, book four of the Wolf Mountain Ranchers. The story is a very loose fictional interpretation of a happily ever after for a friend of mine who never found his before his sudden death.
What are you working on now? Any info you can share? When will it be available? Give us all the tea!
I'm actually working on book five of the Colson Creek series now, the honorary Benson brother, a story that promises to be quite a bit darker than the past four. It's a romantic suspense (as is the rest of the series) following our dark horse, Levi's best friend Lancaster (who may or may not be who he says).
